Machangulo

Logo and Website Design

Machangulo is a Private Nature Reserve situated in the Machangulo Peninsula in Mozambique.

The reserve boasts the opportunity for whale watching in the morning and a safari in the afternoon, a unique selling point that lead to the development of the logo having both elephants and a turtle.

RareEarth

Logo and Label Design

What makes this wine unique is that each and every wine labelled under the Rare Earth brand is selected by a single man. This notion of a personal touch is what inspired the label design and informed both the logo and brand iconography.

Little Treasures Toy Store

Toy Store

We were briefed to conceptualise and design the collateral and corporate identity for an entirely new toy store brand. The only mandatory was the name, “Little Treasures”, and that the client envisioned something with an authentic, olde worlde toy store look and feel along the lines of Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium.

Cabron

Situated in Durban, Cabron is a franchise positioned as a healthy, Mexican fast food alternative in the saturated fast food market.

Our client wanted work with attitude, inspired no doubt by the name, Cabron, which translates as “goat” in Spanish, but has the dual, slang meaning of “bad-ass.”

Earhart Consulting

Logo Design

Earhart Consulting is a start-up company focused on providing professional coaching as well as financial and outsourced business services.

Patricia Norris, the owner of Earhart, chose the name because of the pioneering feminist spirit of Amelia Earhart.

A flowing scarf has been used within the “E” of Earhart to capture this ideal, and the dynamic notion of always moving forward.

Please note that the logo displayed is not the final logo chosen by client but rather my recommendation.

Formist

Brand Identity

Formist (formally known as Interior & Architecture Inc.) wanted to re-invent themselves under a new name and corporate identity.

Being creatively-minded architects and interior designers, they wanted a CI that would reflect the visual aesthetic of their own creative work; clean minimalism with a interesting tactile edge became the starting point for their new brand identity.
Great care was taken selecting just the right shade of rose gold and the perfect paper stock. No detail was too small and everything was considered – a reflection of how they do business.

Twelve Cape

Corporate Identity Design

Twelve Cape is not an hotel brand but in fact an investment holding company that invests in fixed properties (mainly apartments) to be run as “apartment hotels” or serviced apartments.

With the above in mind, we were briefed to create a logo and corporate stationery.

The client’s core business lies on the Atlantic Seaboard and they wished to focus on this link to the iconic Twelve Apostles mountain range – inspiring our design of the (unromantically-named) “fish” icon, which is constructed from 12 triangles to produce “mountain” shapes in both the positive and negative space.

Please note that the logo displayed is not the final logo nor the palette selected by the client, but was however my recommendation.

Rodeo7

Logo and Packaging Design

Rodeo7 was originally briefed and conceptualised as a herbal extract “virility and energy” drink for the broader African market, a marked journey from the Vermouth-classified “energy drink” that appears on shelf today.

The last three images are an example of the project origins and a few of the designs that we loved but didn’t make the final cut.

Apartment 608

Corporate Identity Design

The Silo was original a working grain silo within the wokring harbour of the V&A Waterfront. It had become derelict after many years of neglect. Recently it has been revamped into a beautiful hotel and modern art museum.

Silo Number 3 is an apartment block that is located next to the original silo, No 1 Silo. The brief was to create an identity and stationery for Apartment 608. It needed to be clean, modern and sophisticated while reflecting not only 608 but the shape of the silo as well.

The approved route has been showcased along with 4 other logos that were also presented.
