Logo Design

Earhart Consulting is a start-up company focused on providing professional coaching as well as financial and outsourced business services.

Patricia Norris, the owner of Earhart, chose the name because of the pioneering feminist spirit of Amelia Earhart.

A flowing scarf has been used within the “E” of Earhart to capture this ideal, and the dynamic notion of always moving forward.

Please note that the logo displayed is not the final logo chosen by client but rather my recommendation.

Oceans Yachting is a company based in the United States that manages private super yachts in and around the US and Caribbean. The brief was to create a logo that would not only stand out from the competition, but also reflect the quality and calibre of their services and clients.

Rodeo7

Logo and Packaging Design

Rodeo7 was originally briefed and conceptualised as a herbal extract “virility and energy” drink for the broader African market, a marked journey from the Vermouth-classified “energy drink” that appears on shelf today.

The last three images are an example of the project origins and a few of the designs that we loved but didn’t make the final cut.

Heroic Deli

Brand Identity and Menu Design

The Heroic Deli is making its debut on Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles with a new approach to the old Italian hero sandwich that has remained relatively unchanged for over 100 years.

The Heroic Deli will combine the finest imported Italian Salumi, Prosciutto, Mortadella, premium cuts and cheeses with the freshest local California produce and serve them on freshly-baked, still-warm bread to provide a next-level sandwich experience.

With this in mind, the brief from Adam Fleischman (of Umami Burgers, 800 Degrees Pizza and Cold Cocked Coffee) and his famous eating partner, Jeffrey Merrihue, was succinct: a logo that was clean, simple and modern, but tipped its hat to old Italy.

Baxter’s Good Dog Food Co.

Baxter’s Good Dog Food Co. offers a premium range of dog foods made with freshly-prepared meats, veggies and a delicately balanced blend of culinary oils, vitamins and minerals to support a long, healthy and happy life.

The brief was to reflect the premium nature of the product in the design while still making the packaging affordable (with small production runs in mind). This project was one incredibly close to the heart of our client, Hayley Baxter, and her passion inspired us to produce a logo that borrows her name and the silhouettes of her two dogs.

MaxiVit Chewies

Packaging Design

MaxiVit Chewies is a daily vitamin supplement formulated to give children and teens all the vitamins and minerals they need in one chewable tablet.

The brief was to create a design that would form part of the MaxiVit adult range family while clearly indicating a difference, so colour and a geometric pattern have been used to clearly differentiate MaxiVit Chewies from its adult counterparts (view here).

All of the MaxiVit products have all been packaged in hexagonal boxes to reflect one of the strongest shapes in nature and reflect the product and its key function: strengthening the human body and immune system. This hexagonal shape has been enforced in a number of small elements throughout the design.

Coro

Logo Development and Branding

We were tasked to create a visual identity for a new wheel manufacturer, Coro, based in the Netherlands. The aim was to create a modern feel but suggest the notion of heritage, quality and craftsmanship. The logo icon itself is made up of four concentric and incomplete circles designed to both spell out the name and to form complete circles when the icon spins as a badge in the centre of the alloy wheels.

Ben Wren Wine

Internationally, premium box wines are a huge (and growing) success. In South Africa, however, they’re viewed as the true bottom of the barrel.

Ben Wren Wine is here to change that.

Their vision is to unashamedly embrace the box, using bold and breakout design to drag the humble box wine from the bottom shelf into the limelight – whether it liked it or not. And took it a step further by introducing a canned wine too.

But we knew we wouldn’t succeed without ensuring that what was in the box was as magnificent as what we’d printed on the outside. That’s why all of their wine is sourced from boutique vineyards, delighting the palate without disappointing with loads of sulphites.

The result? A startlingly-successful, high-quality, unpretentious and courageously-designed wine in a box that breaks out of its category through inventing an entirely new one, and is as proud to be at your picnic as it is to feature at your dinner table.

Mantis Re-brand

Mantis is a family-run collection of award-winning, privately-owned, five-star boutique hotels, game reserves, eco lodges, ski lodges, chalets and yachts located around the world. All of the properties represent the finest example of their kind and celebrate the culture, gastronomy, architecture and natural beauty of their locales.

We were briefed to re-position the brand from both a strategic and visual perspective. After considering numerous logo options, varying from evolutionary to revolutionary, the former was selected as the preferred route due to the equity that has already been established in the original logo mark.

This re-imagination was rolled out across an array of stationery and brand elements.

This project was executed in partnership with Area213 International.

Ben Wren Spritzers

Brand Identity and Packaging Design

A boutique brand in its infancy briefed us to develop a premium, canned spritzer range that would live comfortably with the rest of their brand, but simultaneously stand out as a low-calorie, fresh-flavoured spritzer.

Expensive finishes weren’t an option – we had to be clever about how we would ensure impact across a target market (18 – 35) spanning three continents (UK, US and South Africa) alongside numerous competitors.

Our answer: big, bold typography to create brand recognition, flat vector illustrations to generate added interest and a design that naturally leads the consumer to want to turn and “explore” the can. Further reward awaits those who interact with the packaging in the form of custom-designed barcodes and copy with healthy dose of fun.
